Renowned People Who Died on March 31

In United States, they are commemorating César Chávez Day on the last day of March. It is celebrated to uphold service to the public in honor of the Latino civil rights activist. The official state holiday is also the bereavement of five prominent individuals that marked on various career fields. Enumerated below are renowned people who died on the 31st of March. 





Sir Isaac Newton
January 4, 1643 - March 31, 1727
The English Scientist was born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England in 1643. He discovered general methods to resolve problems using infinite series, differential and integral calculus. Newton developed a reflecting telescope and formulated an empirical law of cooling. He also studied the speed of distance traveled during a unit of time produced by sound waves. His work on optics paper writing services, three laws of motion and gravitational force theory make him one of the greatest inventors the world has known. At the age of 84, Sir Isaac Newton died in his sleep in 1727 and was buried in Westminster Abbey.





Jesse Owens
September 12, 1913 - March 31, 1980
At the age of 66, the Hero of the 1936 Berlin Olympics died from complications of lung cancer. The four-gold medalist American athlete Jesse Owens scored a victory not only in track and field history but also during Adolf Hitler's regime. The German Chancellor gave the black US sportsman a Nazi salute at the 1936 Olympic Games.    





Brandon Lee
February 1, 1965 - March 31, 1993
The son of Bruce Lee was fatally wounded during the filming of The Crow in 1994. He was 28 years old at that time, when he was accidentally fired by a real cartridge of a revolver on his abdomen lodging through to his spine. It was supposedly a dummy cartridge but it doesn't contain primary explosives from the ammunition. The film was completed and distributed in cinemas on May 11, 1994. It did well on the box office grossing over $50 million.

Selena
April 16, 1971 - March 31, 1995
Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, her real name, is a Grammy Award-winning Latina singer was shot to death at the age of 23 by Yolanda Saldivar, her fan club leader. The queen of Tejano music dominated the music scene as she had sold 1.8 million albums in United States and other Spanish-speaking countries. Selena, the Mexican Madonna, her loss had extensive widespread impacts. A number of prayer vigils were held to honor her accomplishments in music industry. Numerous radio stations played her songs non-stop. Clothing boutique manager Yolanda Saldivar was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole in 2025.


Tim Flock
May 11, 1924 - March 31, 1998
NASCAR Hall of Fame Nominee Tim Flock died at the age of 73 after being diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. This is also the 50th Anniversary of National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing; he was honored as one of the 50 greatest drivers of all time. In almost eight races, Tim Flock raced with a small Rhesus monkey named Jocko Flocko. His lucky charm remains the only known "co-driver monkey" in NASCAR in which he assisted Tim to win the Grand National race at Hickory Motor Speedway.
